OUR LEADERSHIP

OUR LEADERSHIP

You'll hear us preach Jesus, and while this will likely mean you'll learn some things about how to be a better person, how to have a better marriage, or how to be more fulfilled in life--that's not the point. Because without Jesus, nothing matters. It's because of Jesus that we can be a better person, only Jesus can make a marriage better, and true fulfillment is only found in Jesus.

This means we teach from the Bible, because the Bible is all about Jesus. God uses the Bible to change our lives (2 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12). So, on a Sunday morning you'll hear a 35-40 minute sermon straight from the Bible. Our goal is to communicate the truths of Scripture effectively and in a way that you can understand and apply to your life.

BRETT LYBRAND | Lead Pastor

Brett Lybrand is the Lead Pastor of Hope Creek Church. He is married to his beautiful wife Meg and has three daughters and one son; Karis, Haddie Jo, Della, and Jed. Brett previously served as the Young Life Area Director for Hillsborough, NC, as well as the Connections Pastor at St. Marks Church in Burlington NC.

Brett assumed leadership of Hope Creek Church in June 2013 and has been honored to communicate the Bible and lead Hope Creek ever since. He is passionate about the Gospel, communicating the Bible through the lens of Jesus' finished work on the cross, and watching God change lives as a result. Brett's dream is that Jesus, and Jesus alone, would be lifted up at Hope Creek, that Hope Creek would become an outpost for church planting and missionary sending, and that it would become a place of Gospel transformation for all who walk through our doors.

MATT TREMBLEY | Worship Leader

A contractor during the week and Band Leader at Hope Creek on the weekend, Matt can play or fix just about anything. He is from Hillsborough and is married to his bride, Jen, who is from Canada- and is a proud father to their boys Liam and Alex. Matt leads the team and points them to Jesus with deep humility and hard work.

OUR MISSION

The mission of the universal Church is to glorify God by making disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ. God’s mission and the mission of His Church are inseparably linked. If God’s mission is to be glorified through the redemption and reconciliation of a people, the Church’s mission must orient around the glory of God and seek to glorify Him through redemption and reconciliation.

Here's how that happens at Hope Creek...by loving God, loving each other and loving our City. You'll hear us talk about this a lot! This mission is best displayed in our communities, where we daily have the chance of living out the Gospel to those around us.
